Ever since installing Start11 using Windows/File Explorer is extremely slow or unresponsive. Then if I "end task" of file explorer, the taskbar closes and I can no longer see it or use the windows key to bring up start menu.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try, uninstall Start11, reboot (important), reinstall Start11, reboot and retest. Report back here.

Update - the issue I was experiencing doesn't appear to be an issue with Stardock, as the issue remains even after uninstalling Stardock.
