Start Button fails when Taskbar on Medium

Hi brain trust.  I'm using Start 1.24 but this happened also in 1.20(1) and 1.22.  When I use Enhance Taskbar option and set the size to Medium, the Start button activates nothing.  The start button works consistently when Taskbar is set to small and "mostly" works when set to large.  I'd like to use Medium if I could.  The Taskbar buttons should be combined is set to Never. 

Anyone else having this issue and found a solution?

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know your Windows 11 full version numbers. Please use Winver.exe to get them.

Please try purge and reinstall steps as mention here : [Link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account page. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall and reboot again after the installation. Retest and report back here.

OK did the purge and reinstall exactly as suggested.  Now if Enhance The Taskbar is turned on at all, the Start Button does not function, no matter what size the Taskbar is set for.  So it's less functional that it was.  We're heading in the the wrong direction.

So this problem is ongoing.  I now have the taskbar set to large, which allows the start button to work about 50% of the time.  My workaround is to restart Explorer each time the button does not work in order to get it going again.  But that does not work at all when the size of the taskbar is set to medium.
