Restoring a snapshot on a new laptop

Trying to restore a snapshot from my current laptop to a new laptop.  I've backup the snapshot from the old and moved it to the new laptop directory.  I can pick it for restore, but it won't format correctly.  The desktop has icons on it and the snapshot try's but is unformatted and pushes all other icons off the screen.  What the best way to restore to the snapshot?  Do I need to delete existing shortcuts, then restore? Running Windows10 on both and Fences 3.0.9.11

Hello,

If the new desktop differs from the old desktop might be an issue .

Might be best on the new desktop to set up a new layout and save

that snapshot and back that up .

Don't need the new desk top links/icons.  For some reason, maybe due to OneDrive.  It updated the desktop during setup, before Fences was installed.  Would rather not redo all that Fences setup, if there's a way to use the snapshot.  Thx.
