Fences 4 with Win 11

Fences 4 Auto Snapping all desktop items

Hello All,

I have Windows 11 installed and updated to Fences 4. Fences 4 is auto snapping all my desktop items to the left side of my screen. I can create and run rules successfully, however, I can not arrange any of the items that are not assigned to a rule.

I tried to create a rule to put all new objects in a folder named 'NEW' and that doesn't work either.

I have checked all the screens and I don't see anything to help. I can not find anywhere to attach a file or else I would send screenshots.

Please help me out - you can call me a meathead if it is something simple that I have missed.

You left off the 'meathead' lol -

but when I try to put a second image here is it all blue so I will just send them separately (unless you tell me how first)

I can't send the vid of it happening bc can't post it.

Here are the last three that I think would matter.  Let me know if you want me to do all of them.

Note everything is unchecked because I wanted to test the all new items rule. turned it off bc it doesn't work. I have a video of it happening but can't get it to link here.

One more thing - it says I have free addition on the screen. I have purchased just haven't activated it yet.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. First lets work out where those new icons will be send. I see from your screenshot it shows, it goes to : "shortcuts (at the start of the Fence)", is that the name of your Fence? If yes, can you rename it something else, and try not using the brackets. If it still a problem post a screenshot something like below.

Thanks

Thank you and I have no idea what happened.  The situation in the screenshot above is not what I saw when I was having the trouble. Could be that I changed something without knowing, but when I checked after your answer it was exactly as you said and the answer was that easy.

So now the snapping issue....

try this link for the screenview  Michelle - item docking problem

Please let me know if the link doesn't work. I used dropbox.

Hello again,

Not sure what you're trying to do here. If you don't want it to auto move to a location, you should disable "auto arrange icons" (Right click on desktop->View->untick "Auto arrange Icons" and change the "Sort by" to -> "None"

Thank you,

Many thanks to you. I knew that was an option but I just didn't remember where it was. I really appreciate your help with clearing up my confusion.
