CursorFX 4 Stops responding

Windows closing program

I just purchased Object Desktop. Already had a Steam version of CursorFX, but uninstalled it because I thought it was interfering with the bundled version with Object Desktop and causing Windows to make it crash. When windows detects the application is not responding, it attempt to create it's "sending data to Microsoft and closing program". What it does is disable sounds and animations and when I re-enable, if I can load the program again (hit and miss) then it works for awhile then will quit again whenever, but more frequently than not.

Really like my cursors and hope that there is a solution.

Please try purge and reinstall steps as mention here : [Link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account page. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall and reboot again after the installation. Retest and report back here.

Thank you,

Well I purged the installation and relocated my cursors to public documents Stardock folder, re-installed and now my favorite effects are missing from the effects settings and I can't select the path within the application to install my cursor downloads anymore. Other than that, time will tell if Windows chokes on my cursors.

Edit: Well that didn't take long. Windows just coughed again while previewing other cursors in my list and crashed the application.

Worked for about 2 minutes.

If you can get it installed and running, can you give this a try:

https://forums.stardock.com/485856/cursorfx-support-faq#CFXcrashing

and then add them back in slowly to see if it is a particular item that is causing it

Had to preform a system restore and disable effects. Has run without crashing now for about 5 hours. However, Icon Packager is also not behaving and wasn't prior to the system restore. Whenever I apply an icon package, only a handful are applied and then a few icons from the applied package will completely disappear from the settings. A search of the install folder finds they have been either relocated or deleted.
