Workaround for File Explorer Crashing When Picking Custom Tile Image

I pin a lot of icons to the start menu, and found that after a certain point, file explorer / Start11 crashes occasionally when attempting to pick custom tile images. After adding even more icons to the start menu, it crashes more and more frequently until at a certain point it crashes every time, making it impossible to set custom tile images.

However, I've found a workaround. Moving the tile group I'm working on to another page before picking tile images, then moving it back to the main page when I'm done seems to dramatically alleviate the crashing.

It's my guess that refreshing the large number of custom tile images on the main page after picking a custom tile image is causing the crashes, and that using a "fresh" page with only a few tiles on it helps with the issue. I'm not remotely qualified to say for sure, but that's what it seems like to me.

Good insight.

Have you tested beta build 1.2.1 yet? It has actually helped with a lot of the explorer crashes I was having before on 1.2. It could always use some more testing from people with heavy amounts of custom images.
