Maintaining the size of ICONs and/or Tiles
Lost Configuration
This "issue" is probably a case of Start11 is working as designed but allow me to press on.
After installing Start11 and choosing Windows 10 center option, I got all my tiles sized and located where I wanted them (very cool that it imported existing Fences). Then I decided to take a look at what the Stardock version of a Windows 11 start screen would be like and changed the configuration accordingly. After deciding it was not for me, I reselected Windows 10 centered and while all my groups were there they now defaulted to the small tile and were no longer positioned where I had left them. To get it back to the way I had it I will have to resize and relocate approximately 60 tiles. It would be nice if Start11 defaulted to using the Medium sized tile the way Windows 10 does. If it does have that setting, I was not able to find that setting.
It would seem this that this is not the way Stardock customers would like this to work, I for one certainly think changing the mode of the menu should record the current menu settings and then move to the new one so that if the user returned, things would be the way they were left. At a minimum, the user should be notified their current layout will be lost before proceeding to switch from one layout to another.
Along this line, an option in settings should be provided to save a configuration backup either on change, on exit, or shutdown so that it could be restored thru Start11. Granted there is a mention in the support here a way to export the settings in the registry using a batch file that must be downloaded, but for a product intended for general Windows users this backup and restore process is well beyond what should be expected and as in my case, after the damage was done and of little use.
