Start11 taskbar grouping
Grouping Never does not work properly
When I set the Grouping to Never, the icons get all messed up.
Sometime seemsto work well, although I cannot understand what rules "sometimes" uses??

Which version of Start11 are you using?
Beta 1.18
Windows 11 Beta most current
Are you able to provide an example of the icons being messed up? Screenshots would be helpful showing what you are getting.
Sometimes is quite simple. If there is space everything is uncombined. If there is a shortage of space then items with >1 item will be collapsed into 1. If there is still no space then all items are collapsed and shown without text.
Attached is the Task Bar Never Group. The group sometimes does not work correctly. I have plenty of room on my task bar yet items do not ungroup.

None of those buttons seem to have text either which is very odd.
The word icon is probably a pinned icon which wouldn't ungroup to be wider as pinned icons are always smaller.
That said the entire alignment is also off. You seem to have a huge space on the left for no reason with no room on the right. If you disable the centre option for taskbar buttons does it then work as expected?
Suddenly it seems to be working. I will get back to you if the issue reappears.
Problem is when there are too many icons in the taskbar. When Ungrouped and more than 12 icons need to display the task bat does not display many of them and the ones that show are spread out.
Also, W+8, W+9, W+0 disply the wrong program. W+0 shows what W+8 should show, W+9 shows what W+0 should show, W+8 shows what W+9 should show.
By W+number you mean the Win+number hotkeys?
On the first issue, we have found the issue where if the buttons didn't fit with titles it causes a problem when it has no text as it thinks it is shrinking the buttons but is in fact expanding them. Thanks for reporting this.
Also, when I move pinned icons around on the taskbar, Start11 does not recognize that they have new numbers when using W+icon number. Even if I restart Explorer, Start11 cannot tell that the icon positions have changed.
This would be expected due to the bug.
We are looking into a fix.
Please let me know when there is a new Beta. For now, I need to go back to vanilla Windows 11. Eager to give the new Beta a try!!!
Any news on fixing this?? I do dislike the Windows 11 Start Menu!!
