Files Still Visible on Main Computer Desktop, as well as in Fence/Folder Portal

How to hide files/icons on computer desktop, but still show in Fence/Portal

Until recently, whenever I would save/add/drag a file to my main desktop, it would automatically go into my "Desktop" fence/portal, and not remain on my main computer desktop, which is exactly what is supposed to happen. Now those same files appears in both my main desktop and in my fence/portal, which is cluttering up my desktop. The reason I installed Fences to begin with was to declutter. What setting am I missing? This started happening without me changing anything.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Do you have Portal Fences link to your Desktop? If that is true, than that is the problem. For desktop, you don't need a Portal Fences. You just need  normal Fences for it.

Problem solved, I think. In the actual Desktop fence, you must check menu>organize>"place all new items in this fence by default". For some reason this had become unchecked.
