Performance Issue on Windows 11

Groupy

Hi Team,

I am planning to buy the license for Groupy however, with the trial version, I am having significant performance issues on my Microsoft Book3 laptop. The performance reverts back to normal after uninstalling Groupy. Any tips?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. How have Groupy impact your system performance issue? More details please. Also information on your system.

  1. Windows version, please use Windows own Winver.exe to get Windows full version numbers.
  2. Groupy versions installed.
  3. Single, dual multiple display? More details please.
  4. Specification on your MS Book 3.

Thanks

Hi Basj,

Most of the information requested is straightforward and captured below. The main issue is that the laptop becomes unusable after using Groupy. It's performing normal after uninstalling it...

- Windows 11 - latest verison/updates/fixes

- Groupy - latest version

- Surface Book3 - i5 1.50 GHz 8GB RAM (GB's of free space).

I hope it helps.

Cheers

Why I need full version numbers, is because some people like to run latest Dev release. You said latest version, but I am not sure you on what version actually.

My latest updated Windows 11 is : Version 21H2 (OS Build 22000.469) Same as yours?

When you said performance issue, can you elaborate more on this.

Have you try reinstall again after you uninstalled and test it again?

Thank you,

Hi Basj..

This is the version downloaded from the url:

https://www.stardock.com/products/groupy/download

The performance issues is quite significant - which sort of creates a ghosty performance on computer and the applications/laptop is not-usable. I have already uninstalled it - have installed it twice but had the same experience.

Hi again Basj - I am really keen to use the licensed version of the Groupy app however the performance is making it impossible to use... can this be prioritised for resolution?

Hello,

Is this the same system having issue with Fences as you mentioned in your other thread? https://forums.stardock.com/509849. If yes, try this, just as a test, shutdown your system. Unplug your external monitor. Just run that system with your default setup and see if the lagging still there.

Thank you,

The forum link is from 2018 with no reference to Windows 11??

In addition to my last message - I believe that this issue could be localised to Windows 11 OS.

No, I don't see the lagging issue on my Windows 11 system. And I don't see any lagging report from other users concerning Windows 11 and Groupy.

What is there should work for Windows 11 as well.

Hi Sean - Thanks for your response. It appears that Groupy may not have been optimised for Windows 11 since it's last release. The information on the Stardock page states - "System Requirements Windows 10/8.1/7 " Are you able to escalate the performance issue with Windows 11 (home edition) to the developers to identify if any optimisation is required. I am keen to get this however the current performance issue is counter productive.

It has not been 'optimized' and should not be confused with 'it working'.

That said, there are plans for more Groupy releases geared toward Win11 specifically but no firm dates or specifics have been established.
