Server displays going dark and back to normal

I have 2 laptops connected in seamless mode, each with its external monitor
When this happens and the displays go black and back on, it's just the two from the server.
When it happens the worse, it happens again and again and again, in very short intervals of a few seconds, until it stops happening because Multiplicity crashes and dies (disappeared from the task manager)
I notice that this only happens when I'm having very high CPU usage because of other processes.
But it does happen, and it's a destroyer of productivity.
Any ideas?
