Version 3 from Humble Bundle to 4

So I couldn't seem to find anything about this issue.

I purchased a software bundle from Humble Bundle in 2016 that included Fences 3. It has been great except I had a small issue of one of my fences disappearing. I can still see my shortcuts in the file explorer and trying to make news just replace the one that is "missing". In my grand search for a solution, I saw that there was a new version out so I got the installer. Big mistake, I now can't access any of my Fences settings because it wants me to put a key in. Well the key I used before for my version 3 doesn't work obviously and even making my account on here doesn't show I have an active key. Well considering I have used the program since 2016........please help...

Sorry to hear you are having issues. For your first issue, have you try the layout snapshot restore and see if the missing return? If none of your layout restore bring back the Fences. Try disable Fences desktop page. It might be simply move to another desktop page.

On the second one, you can try to get to your product and key using this guide : https://forums.stardock.com/484254/getting-your-products-and-keys. If all fail please raise a support ticket using the link below. Include all your purchase details in there and Support will help you from there.

Note : License key for V3 will not work on V4, you will need to buy a new key.

Snapshot restore doesn't have the correct one. I cannot access Fences settings because I get the V4 Product Key menu when trying to access. I have a v3 key that I used when I got the software. But the link you provided doesn't show there. If I could just get V3 running again I would be fine.

I used the installer from the website. I didn't know it was gonna completely lock me out of version 3 stuff. It appears to have installed over 3.

If thats the case then your snapshots would remain the same installing 4 didnt lose any of your snapshots.

If you still have the installer saved for 3 you could uninstall 4 and reinstall 3 if you have the key ?

Nope.  The snapshots are not the same. It goes from like a 2 days to like a year ago. And I don't have the version 3 installer saved. When I downloaded 4, it removed 3.

Hello,

Since you don't have a key for Fences 4. Best thing to do is uninstall Fences 4, reboot and reinstall Fences 3. Report back once you get back to Fences 3 and work on your issue from there.

Do you have a Windows System Restore point saved v3 , you could restore too ?
