File Explorer Tabs Close Automatically in Windows 11

I have a saved Groupy group with an Excel spreadsheet and 4 File Explorer windows and since I upgraded to Windows 11, after an hour or so, all of the File Explorer windows automatically close but not the Excel spreadsheet.

Anyone else have this happen?

If this happens the most likely explanation is explorer itself crashed and restarted,

I have completed the purge and reinstallation as you instructed.  I'll let you know if that fixes the issue - hopefully it does.

Thanks, Jeff

Unfortunately, after about an hour or an hour and a half, the same thing happened again - all of my File Explorer windows closed.

Any thoughts?  It did not happen when I was running Windows 10.

I am also having same issue on Win11; it comes and goes. I stops if I click on each of the open tab and refresh them; until then when I open a group it auto closes if I move it.

Are you guys on the current DEV build by any chance. Windows 11 version 22563 has a known issue of causing explorer to crash / restart

I'm having the same thing happen. I haven't used Windowblinds/Stardock for a few years and wanted to again. Just FYI, I've been using Windows 11 since it came out. I loaded up Windowblinds, created an account and tried a couple of themes and everything works well EXCEPT File Explorer won't stay open. It pops up using whatever theme and I can click on something in it BUT, if I try to resize or move it to another screen it just closes.I never had that happen with Win 10 or 11; just since trying a Windowblinds theme.

I'd really like to use this again but I hesitate to pay to join until Explorer works properly.

Can anyone help please?

Thx

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Windowblinds currently not compatible with Windows 11. Please uninstall it from your system if you wish to have a stable system. New version of Windowblinds that is compatible with Windows 11 are planned to be release this year. But, there is no official date of release yet.

Thanks

For any of you, if you go into Event Viewer, do you see Windows explore crashes?

I will check event logs next time but it does not seem to be a crash. The apps though do crash, like outlook I have to force quit outlook as sometimes when  popup event happens in outlook and I switch to it; it automatically minimizes and I cant retrive any of open outlook grouped windows. Outlook crashes and in the preview of open windows (when hovering over the bottom bar) I can see a all the windows refreshing one at a time and none will show up anymore. For grouped browsers it can happen when I change resolution and I move smaller screen (usually on ultrawide). For open file explorer, it seems random, it normally doesnt crash but constantly minimizes when I try to switch to the file explorer group and move the window. It does this until I select all the open tabs groups on top; seems like one of them might be the cause and I have to switch to it and back and then it stops.
