Fences has a monitor detection design flaw
Here is the issue I have run into. I have a new laptop with a 4k resolution. I also have a very large monitor with a 4k resolution (3840x2160 and is the primary display)
I setup fences on my large monitor (I dont use the laptop monitor much) Everything is fine.. If I reboot, fences moves to the laptop display.. I can open and close the lid and it will kick it to move to the other monitor.. but that's no solution.
I figured out the issue is that since both monitors have the same resolution, and fences uses the display resolution in the algorithm to determine where to display, it goes with first available, which is the laptop display. I could not get fences to reliably stay on the larger monitor until I changed the display resolution of the laptop to something different (1920x1080).
If fences could use some other way to determine the assigned display, this would be a great change.
