WindowBlinds on Win10 "does not appear to be installed correctly" right after install

I've just gotten a new laptop and am working on configuring it. Yesterday Windowblinds was working fine. Then I installed ESET antivirus, ran a scan, and shut down. This morning when I booted I got Windows updated (Win10). Now Windowblinds is not skinning any window. When I try to apply a skin I get a window that says "WindowBlinds does not appear to be installed correctly on your machine. Would you like to try to fix this issue now?" I click yes and nothing happens. I've tried uninstalling WindowBlinds and reinstalling it, still doesn't work. It was working fine on my old laptop, same Win10, same ESET, same WindowBlinds.

Any help appreciated.

Unfortunately that did not work. I ran the purge, rebooted, reinstalled WB through the Object Desktop Manager and hit the same problem. I then uninstalled WB again, rebooted, ran the purge, rebooted, downloaded the WB installer from my account's My Downloads page, installed it, and still have the same problem.

And I appreciate your support. I've been using WB since its early days and feels really strange without it.

Thanks very much, that has gotten WB working again. However, it is not skinning Firefox, and it was skinning it yesterday. I had previously looked at your support FAQ about Firefox and checked the box to enable the title bar, and that got it working before I installed ESET. Is there a way to allow it to skin Firefox's title bar?

Thanks again.

Hello,

On the older version of firefox there is away to do this

" Firefox's 3 bar menu -> Customize -> (Bottom left) Tick check box "Title bar" "

But in newer version you will need to go a little deeper.

  1. Open Firefox and in it address area type "about:config"
  2. on the searchbox type titlebar.
  3. "browser.tabs.drawInTitlebar" should appear. Click on that 2way arrow set it to "false".

That shall do it.

I appreciate your help, but I already have both the "Title bar" box checked and the browser.tabs.drawInTitlebar set to false.  I have a title bar on my Firefox window but WB isn't skinning it. I am on Firefox 94.0.2, the 64 bit version.

I am on 94.0.2 too. And as you can see from my screenshot the frame is skin. But the menu is not skin. Maybe you can see if rebooting helps. or try uninstall and reinstalling Windowblinds.

I remember, my Firefox was not skinned few months back too. But, somehow, not sure what happened, it get skin itself one day and it stay skinned since then.
