Start11 with Dual (Multiple) Monitors

Running Dual Screens/Monitors with Windows 10 21H1.  Start 11 centering of start button and task bar icons work on primary monitor but secondary monitor start menu works but does not center start button or task bar icons on secondary monitor.  Have both start button and task bar set to Center Aligned

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Do you have Curtains installed? If yes, this, is the issue, and Curtains will have an update soon to resolve this issue.

Thanks

That worked, thanks.  I have uninstalled curtains and after reboot both screens centered.  I will keep an eye out for the next curtains update.

I for one have the same issue but I don't have Curtains installed. X| Tried it ONCE but then uninstalled it, no idea what the issue is.

I am on Windows 10 Pro, as for the small numbers I can't really say of this current moment.
I grabbed the latest version though, didn't know Start 10 really existed.

If I get Start 10 it will probably work? And if so, can I transfer the license code from Start 11 to 10?

Start10 will work on Windows 10, but there are fewer option in Start10. For example, there is no center start button in Start10.

Luke,

I believe we can still work on your issue. I am currently running Windows 10 on my system and latest Start10. My system have two monitors too, but, both start button is in the center of the taskbar.

Please try purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here: [link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purged. Reinstall, and Reboot again after the installation. Retest it. Report back here.

Thank you,

Hello, Sorry to raise a 3 month old issue, however I'm also having the same issue as OP reported.

I have never used curtains, start 10 or start 11 before, and after a fresh first time install, I'm also noticing the same issue using a dual-monitor setup. I have 2 BENQ 2K monitors (2560x1440 each). Both are hooked up via Display Port connections, NOT HDMI.

Here is my windows 10 information:

Windows 10 Pro. Version 21H2 (OS Build 19044. 1706)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070

This is what my display config in windows looks like (extended desktop):

Only the primary monitor gets the centered taskbar and not the secondary one, even though its extended. As far as I know, I don't have any other software installed that should be conflicting with Start 11.

I hope that helps in debugging this issue, I'm on a trial and was really hoping I could get this feature working on both taskbars.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to have more information on your system and issue.

  1. Start11 version install?
  2. Details on all 3 of your screens.  Resolutions, scaling (100%,125% etc) connection type.
  3. Have you try rebooting after the install?
  4. Just as a test, Does your second monitor have center start button if you disconnect your 3rd monitor and reboot?

Thanks

Hi Basj,

Thanks for your response.

It appears that a simple reboot after install was needed to make the centering work on all monitors. I also tried as you suggested about disconnecting the 3rd monitor and it made no difference, the reboot fixed it.

Thanks for the suggestion, I should have tried that first

All good now
