Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here: [link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purged. Reinstall, and Reboot again after the installation. Retest it. Report back here.

Thanks

I don't think the purge went as intended. A lot of error messages flashed up and it ended up as an uninstall, so I will have to repopulate my menu.

However, fuull screen works and this is important for me, so a worthwhile exercise.

Those error messages are normal since the purge also work for installation on Windows Vista/7/8/8.1/10. Anyway, glad it work out.

The menu icons disappear when All Aps is sekected, is this by design to give more roomfor the icons when All Aps is not selected?

I have found another problem, maybe my not understanding, but when I try to select my own background Start11 goes to my Pictures folder and shows several of my subfolders but does not recocnise any of the files, even when I enter the file name. As a workaround can I copy the file I used before into the folder where Start11 stores its image options?

Yes, I think that is by design.
