Network Slowdown

Main PC loses a lot of internet speed

I installed the trial of Multiplicity and was amazed. My Mouse/Keyboard and even the monitor was usable for two PCs at one station, AWESOME. Even got the sound from the other PC to the primary, INCREDIBLE. That is when I noticed two issues.

First the sound; when Multiplicity is turn on but not actively in use the sound on the second PC is automatically muted. I tried unmuting it and it mutes itself again instantly. The only way I can stop this is to unload Multiplicity from the main machine. This is annoying but I can live with it.

The second issue is a bigger deal. I noticed my bandwidth was getting well below what it should be on my main machine. I was seeing download speeds of 240 Mbps when I have 1000Mbps speeds offered. Even odder was when I enabled a VPN the speed instantly came back and worked perfectly. I thought I was having an issue upstream with my ISP. Then I noticed that another PC in my home was not seeing this slowdown, it was working fine. I finally tried turnoff Multiplicity and suddenly my internet speeds on VPN and without where normal. I checked Windows 10 task manger and did not see Multiplicity using any network bandwidth when i was not connected actively to the second PC. What is going on, why is it saying it is not active on the network and yet is killing over 60% of my internet bandwidth unless I run a VPN?
