Jafo I need some help!

First of all let me start by saying this thread has nothing to do with skinning but something most of us love: Cars

Jafo: (or anyone who is a true motorhead)

Do you know of a website that is devoted to the repair of Ford Escorts? I know it is a silly question, but tommorrow I need to install a new water pump (I know how to do that) and a timing belt. I know where the timing marks are and how to set the timing up. I do not know how to do all of it step by step and my haynes Escort book dosen't help.

This thread can isn't a big priority. ignore it if it makes you mad. You all are my extended family so I thought I would ask all of you.

Get a Chilton's repair manual, they are great for detailing what you need to do. BTW, most libraries carry them so you could just borrow one instead of having to buy one.

Yeah, I was going to suggest Chilton also. Either from a local libray or auto shop. Can't think of anything else off the top of my head.

Kona......Google is the epitome of 'garbage in - garbage out'.....my bet is that were you to search via the appropriate input that you'd find what you're looking for.

As for engine work/s....were you doing up a Spitfire I could probably talk you through it from memory...though mine's been neglected and up on blocks for 15 years....

I am not sure what you are looking for here.

I mean, you will have to pull the front end cover off to change the belt, so you will need to make sure you have the front engine gasket kit and some blue and/or black silicon. Make sure everything is clean and dry before putting it on and don't over tourqe the bolts and or nuts on any studs.

You might try your local ford dealers service department, mos to of the guys down there will help you out with it, that a one of the larger speed shops. The guys behind the counter almost always have help in mind as long as you listen first and then ask follow up question.
