Open file in current window/group

Hi, I have file explorer and a few word docs open in a group, what I'd like to do is that if I open another file using file explorer then that file should open in the current active group. Is this possible?

Hello,
You can set groupy to auto-group all Word docs. Please refer screenshot below. Once that is set. Everytime you open Word it will groupy into your active Word group.

Hi, I'm looking for this behaviour but with different file types, e.g. open a PowerPoint file in the current group if launched via a file explorer that is part of the current group.

Hello,

If you have turn on "Group newly opened windows if the Ctrl key is help down whilst opening them", it should group any new windows. Except this don't work for MS Office application since starting MS Office application while "Ctrl" pressed down will take it to open in Safe mode.

Thank you,

Thanks, I tried this earlier and faced the "safe mode" issue you mentioned, is it possible to use another key instead of ctrl?

Thanks.

I have found a workaround for the MS Office apps issue.

Press ctrl when opening the office file, don't let go of ctrl. Keep ctrl pressed until a dialog box pops up asking to open word in safe mode. Whilst holding ctrl click "no", keep ctrl pressed until the file opens. It should open in the current group.
