I'm now up to 2 windows 10 pro systems where start 10 crashed Explorer and caused a black screen

Dear software developers,

I love Start10 and put it on all my customers computers.

Please make the following useful change:

Add the code necessary to detect whether explorer.exe is loading normally or if there is currently a **black screen**. If so the result should be

a) A Pop up message Compelling the user to repair or uninstall your application.

b) An Automated process that uninstalls Start 10 immediately followed by a Helpful pop-up message or text file log that appears after the computer has been rebooted.

Summary:

I feel this is necessary because Start10 does not leave any Clues as to what the problem is. Uninformed non technical users will have to pay $150 or more to have myself or a similar PC consultant correct this issue. They're not going to be able to find the control panel with a black screen to even run the uninstall. Without any evidence who would make the connection in the first place. Hmmm? Luckily the uninstall works every time!

Therefore an automatic fail safe uninstall when explorer fails to load properly would be a very valuable feature for the start 10 purchaser. There is no Start 10 safe mode.

Thank you,

Are these users using a trial mode or a paid version of Start10?

Also what version of Windows is in use (exact one please).

Start10 will not start in Safe mode if that helps.

With regards to a possible issue, we are aware of a potential issue with later versions of Windows and the trial showing a popup at startup and the 1.97.1 update which is in beta has changes to prevent that showing so early which I think on some computers causes a problem at machine bootup.

End of quote

If you try this build, does it resolve the issue?

Thank you for your kind replies.

I have not experienced any problems since that time frame.

I will report any future OS/Start10/11 collisions should they occur.

Thank you for directing this to appropriate channels.

QUESTION,  do you have any affiliate links for Start10/11?

I'd like to put on my Website etc.

Thanks for "Fixing" Windows 8/10/11 and beyond!
