Fences

Error saying explorer failed to close and fences suspended

from Stardock Forums

Hi

I have installed fences 3.  When trying to use it there is an error message about explorer not closing properly and fences is suspended.  I have a report log i can upload if you can send me a link.

How can i resolve this please as i need fences.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more on your system.

  1. Windows version ,please use Windows Winver.exe for full Windows version numbers.
  2. Fences version you have installed.
  3. Is this Corporate System? Do you have Websence / Forcepoint installed?

Hi

 

Windows version is Windows 10 version 2004 OS Build 19041.1165

Fences version 3.  I tried version 2 also and that had the same problem.

I dont have websence or forcepoint installed.

Please up date Windows 10 to Version V20H2 or higher and Please try purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here: https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#reinstalling Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account. Reboot immediately after the purged. Reinstall, and Reboot again after the installation. Retest it. Report back here.

Hi

 

I have done the update, purge, reinstall and multiple reboots and fences still comes up with the same error about explorer not closing properly.

What should i try next?
