Some apps not being added

Ok - this has to be simple but I can't find it. When I start Outlook 2010 the app's icon is not added to the recently used applications section of Start 10. What should I check? Also, what determines the order of the icons in the recently used list?

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to check how is your setting in Start10. Make sure the option is turn on and you have given enough space for it to appear.

The order is determined by frequency of use, interactions etc.
It means that opening an app doesn't put it instantly to the top of the list. As you use any app it gets promoted further and further up the list.
Also anything pinned to the taskbar will be ignored.
