Fences bought on Steam being detected as a malicious code/cryptomining

Since some days ago, I notice that Fences started to act strange. Not loading, asking to buy it again, updating twice for the same patch version and, today, doing a scheduled scanning for viruses and/or malwares, ESET Smart Security Premium pointed that Fences now was injected with some malicios code.

 

The file is "LogicNP.CryptoLicensing.dll"  and the problem is that is a "CRYPTOOBFUSCATOR" .

 

Any statement from Stardock about that?

Seems like we have a bunch of bad things cracking the code around fences...

Not speaking on behalf of Stardock here :

I think whats happening here is the activation code is being incorrectly identified by ESET.  Nothing in that report shows anything of concern.

The dll comes from http://www.ssware.com/ which is a legit company.

This happens far too often with AV apps and sloppy signatures detecting 'threats'
