My entire desktop has disappeared, and I cannot add new items to it

Icons visible in Win Explorer, but nothing on desktop

I am a trial user mid-trial. I updated yesterday to the latest version, and rebooted today. My icons and fences have all disappeared (I tried dbl-click...did not work). Following one of the posts in the forum, I downloaded and ran Purge_Fences.bat, and then uninstalled Fences. I had some problems doing so  as it kept telling me that Fences was running, but I followed the alternative approach of deleting the program in Program files (x86).

Despite repeated reboots I cannot get any icons to show up on my desktop. This includes icons that I had not put into individual fences also. Also, I cannot create or transfer any new items onto the desktop. Fortunately, the icons are there in Windows Explorer. I just don't have a desktop.

What do I do? I am using Win 10 v 2004 (Build 19041.1110)

Thanks

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Do you have OneDrive Desktop Sync turn on? Please check. And, any specific reason you are not updating you Windows 10 to the latest update?

Thanks

I got this issue too, after updating to the new version of fences 3. All my desktop icons are gone, after uninstalling the software they are still gone, but turns out they are just hiding.

And I got them back by : Mouse Right Click on desktop - View - Show desktop icons.

Installing software again and seem to work fine again.
