Start window only stays open when an Application is running

Clickinh on Start10 otherwise just flashes

Unless I have an application open, the START10 menu will not stay open. The open application has to be on my primary screen to work. If I move the application to my second screen, the issue returns.

This just started. I removed Start10 using the .BAT routine for a complete removal and re-installed. This did not solve the problem.

I've had Start10 almost from the day Windows 10 was released without problems until now.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need more information on your system.

  1. Windows 10 version, please use Winver.exe for full Windows version numbers.
  2. Start10 version.

Basj, I appreciate your quick response. Thank you.

Unfortunately, I have no idea what you are asking me to do.

I am a retired Chemical Engineer, not a computer tech. When I retired, computers were still in their infancy.

Computers either work, or they don’t.

 

Where can I go for help? Is it best for me to abandon Start10 and learn how to use the Windows 10 interface?

Hello,

Not really sure which part you need help with.

  1. Type "Win+R" on your keyboard will open "Run".
  2. Type in "Winver.exe" in the "Open". Should run Winver.exe.
  3. You will get Windows full version number from there.
  4. For Start10 version numbers. Open Start10 Config Windows ->About > Start10 version should be listed there.
  5. For purge and reinstall steps, please follow the instruction listed on the link given above.

Try those first and report back.
