If you mean 'drag and drop', that is only available in MP KVM or greater. Copy and paste will work, however.

from the comparison chart, it looks like "Require encrypted and authorized remote connections" is only on kvm and higher.  does that mean that while on km all my shared data is sent in the clear across the internet to my other computer?  does the data go through the internet or does it remain behind my router?

The latter since MP data never traverses the Internet with the lone exception being when you initially activate the product.
