Toon XP Help

2> I think that's just the way the artist made the skin...although you might be able to make adjustments (for your use only) via Skin Studio. Not sure on that, as I've never done that myself.

ive got object dock but how do i get the cartoon style bar?

when i run objectdock it just replaces my startbar with a blue bar.

Click on the "configure object dock" button; on the first tab (appearance) you can choose the background (in your case Toon). If you can't find it in the drop down menue, you will have to use explorer to paste your toon background into the program files\Stardock\objectdock\Backgrounds folder.

You will also see that you can choose on which side of the screen object dock will show up and you can also choose whether you want the normal Windows taskbar hidden or not (on Dock contents tab).

Uhh, I don't have ToonXP, but I assume you downloaded it as a .zip file? If so you might have a folder called object dock?

Once you have the Toon background set, then you can copy the Toon Png (icons) to the object dock directory, then you can replace the old icons with the ToonXP icons.) Once you get everything set up the way you want it, then you can save the OD theme as ToonXP.

Also, the ToonXP Windowblind has many sub designs. They are really neat.

Saw this thread and I need help with Toon XP too. If someone could please tell me what I have to put in object dock and where to put it in object dock I would appreciate it. I go to dock settings and then background but nothing for toon xp is there.

The taskbar on the right is a program called object bar. Assuming you have the full object desktop suite, you can start it up manually (all programs\object desktop\object bar). After you have done that you can right-click on the icon in the system tray, go to "general options" and on the "startup options" tab you can set it to "load object bar at startup".

The monitors on the top are most likely a free program called Sysmetrix (http://www.xymantix.com/sysmetrix/index.html). If you want it to start up with your system you have to create a shortcut to sysmetrix.exe and place it in your c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup folder.

Thanks for your help. I got that part, but what I am talking about is on the left. You see it in the video, above they said you need object dock for that. I got that and go to the configure object dock -- background, but toon xp does not show up. So then what was said is that I have to copy toon background to object dock then copy the png files. My question is: what files do I copy to the object dock directory? I have copied almost all of toon xp to object dock and still nothing.

Blackhood; I was still answering Kev017's questions.

You should have had (at least to my knowledge) an object dock folder included with your toonXP skinpack? Within this folder you should have two things: one folder filled with *.png files (these are your icons for the dock) and another folder containing a couple of *.png's and one file called background.ini. You have to copy the first folder directly into your Object Dock folder, and the second folder goes into your Object Dock\Backgrounds folder.

Once installed, the background should show up in the drop down menu as described above. The icons can be installed by right clicking on any item of the dock; then go to "dock item properties" and "change image".

All Toon-XP components are included in the theme manager.  The monitors on the top are not Sysmetrix, they are DesktopX.

ObjectDock is a free program and is not included in Toon-XP.  However, you can configure it to go with Toon-XP.  If you go to the ObjectDock library, at the top will be a "download" link.  There is also a "website" link that will give you information on how to use and configure it.  The info given above in post #6 is also usefull.  ObjectDock is free and unsupported.  You need to copy the Toon-XP icons over then replace the icons in the default with them in the configuration.

Kev017, which bits aren't loading on Startup?  Do you just have Toon-XP or do you also have Object Desktop?  You may need to configure them to load on Startup.

I have toon xp and it does not come with object dock setup..Only Object Bar....You have to make the dock your self and use the png Icons to create the Dock.....

Im sorry I didnt see KGs reply..She Knows...

Personally, I think the WindowBlinds that comes with toon xp is lame..I use the Faux Toon Xp instead..It goes with it a lot better and actually matches the Wallpapers and DesktopX stuff...The objects in X also are really cool like the Dock on the right and the gages..
