VMWare Workstation and mouse

When VMWare is in the foreground, fullscreen or not, the mouse will not move to the other computer and will disappear unless I alt-tab and put the program in the background. Using VMWare Workstation 16.1.0 build-17198959 and Multiplicity 3.55.

If I understand your issue correctly, that would be expected as if VMWare has focus, the mouse is hooked to it.

The default setting is to auto grab the mouse. Even if I change it to force doing a ctrl-alt to release the behavior is the same once I hit the edge of the screen on the primary PC. The mouse cursor disappears and does not respond to clicks or become visible again until I alt-tab. With no VMs running everything is fine. With the VM in the background and a paused or off VM in the foreground everything is fine. Only when a VM is running and displayed does the problem happen. VM tools are up to date.

I have exactly the same problem but even a little worse than described above. After the first alt tab of the program, I completely lose the ability to work with the mouse. It's just not possible. Sometimes repeated alt tab helps to regain control, but it doesn't work every time. I do not know what this is due to, but when I decided to switch to vmware latest version, there was no problem and I could click the mouse. I fully described my situation to technical support, but none of the solutions they offered did not bring the desired result. I reinstalled the program twice, but the problem remained.

Same issue with me, do you fix it now? how did you resolve the problem? meanwhile, I am trying to explore different versions of vmware, I am checking this site, seems pretty good they also have free trials to test everything.
