Start menu not responding to "This computer", Control panel", "Settings" when clicking on it

Hey!

First of all I need to say that I have tried to reinstall the whole computer, with no success.

The programs on the right side opens up, after like 5-10min usually. Sometimes the start meny disappears after I have clicked on something, but nothing opens at all. Its the same problem with the shortcuts on the far right side on the start menu, like the sound icon, network icon etc.

This happens pretty often, never had this kind of problem before and I have used Start10 for many years now.


Since I have reinstalled Windows (C, where I have placed Start10) and also Start10, I have no idea what to do. It must be a bug in the software?

Hello,

If you haven't done the Purge try first.

Would you do this PURGE: https://forums.stardock.com/486022/start10-support-faq#reinstalling

Reboot and ReInstall the latest version from your account Reboot , test and report back please.

I have not been answering simply because its been working, up till now. :/ I did what you said and now its the same problem again.

I have also noticed that im not getting any "pop ups" from for example when someone types in Skype, usually there is a pop up at the right corner when I receive a message but when this happens there is no pop up.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Just to be clear. You did the "Purge and restore" and the issue was resolved? And the problem reappear just recently? If so what has change between "it was working" and "its no longer work? Driver update? Software update? Install new software? Do you have other software like Open Shell, Classic Shell, Startisback etc etc?

Would also like to know information below :

  1. Windows 10 full version numbers. Please use Winver.exe for full version numbers.
  2. Start10 version installed.
  3. Any other relevant information.

Hey!

Not been responding because...just now, it happened again. :D Its been working for a very long time now actually, but just now its the same problem after I just rebooted my computer.

Im using Windows version 19041.804.

Start10 version: 1.96 right now

I have not done any sort of driver update, installed other software etc (that I know of atleast, I cant guarantee this tho). I dont have Open Shell or the other programs you mentioned.

What has changed? Since, it was working before? How did you made it working again? Purge and reinstalled or Cleanboot?

It works when I reboot my computer (usually) but now it worked before I rebooted, and not working after. :/

I did a sfc /scannow tho and it found:

In my CBS.log, im not sure if that helps? Or if its even related to this. It was the only error that came up.
