Small gaps between windows edges

Hello there,

Whenever I group apps (Firefox, Discord, Thunderbird and explorer so far), I always have a small gap at different places - depending on the app - of the window, see:

https://i.imgur.com/ZY850Gi.png

I put a red wallpaper to make it visible.

For Firefox, there are gaps at the top and the bottom of the window. For Discord/Thunderbird/explorer at the top only.

I'm using the latest version of Groupy (1.46).

Hope it's fixable.

By the way, the issue happens only when I have 2 or more windows next to each other.

Hello,

I can't reproduce it on my system. Need to know if you are using Monitors manager for managing your programs layout. For example, My Dell Display Manager have "Easy Arrange" and set zone for documents. There always have small gaps when I use it, but it soo small, it don't really bother me at all.

Thank you,

Yes, indeed, the issue comes from the monitors manager (I was also using the Dell one but now I switch to Fancy Zones from PowerToys). I contacted them to fix the issue.

Thanks.

@basj: There is still something though. For example with Dell Display Manager or AquaSnap, I have to drag the original title bar to make the snapping work, those tools don't recognize the Groupy bar as a title bar. Is that possible to give the Groupy bar the same "status" as the original bar?

Hello,
I don't think that is possible. But, I have forward your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

I honestly don't think there will be any update when the answer is like above. I asked a simple question a month ago [Link] and nothing happens. I could point to a lot of other threads/posts in the forum that just get ignored after the "Please keep an eye... etc"

So no answer to a simple question like in my own post after a month is ok then? And I could link to a lot of ignored posts if desired.

Jan, you know that we can't solve every issue immediately and not everyone at that.  But to say we 'ignore' anything is just not honest.

As I have said before, on more than one occasion, your feedback (in particular) is appreciated but please don't let the frustration of slow progress on some issues taint our entire body of work.

How on earth can you make what I said include your entire body of work? When a post with a simple question hasn't received any attention in 30 days, I call it ignored. You can call it something else. Let's just leave it. I can live with that.

I did check it but nothing mentions the issue I'm facing, unless I missed something.

Hello,

I believe if you are using Groupy in Combine mode that is possible. But if "always place above" that won't work since the Monitor manager only resize the actual windows not recognizing the Groupy tabs as part of the windows.

Cases where you can deal with combine mode only are very rare. Most of the time, if you want to combine different kinds of apps, they will always use the Groupy bar. And thus my question, make the Groupy bar part of the window.

Unfortunately third party applications will not be aware of the Groupy bar.

It should however work with Fancy Zones.

Too bad. Alright, thanks for your reply.

FancyZones doesn't work with screen edges like AquaSnap unfortunately.
