How to add new tabs to existing groups quickly and easily

How can I add new tabs to existing groups quickly and easily and ensure that it gets saved to the group so that it opens automatically the next time.

So at the moment, if I want to add a tab, I have to create a new group?

No, you can add a new tab but it is not automatically save into the group. You need to save it as a new group.
