Will not install

Have turned Controlled Folder Access off and turned off Windows Defender

New laptop.  Controlled folder access turned off plus turned off both private and public so doesn't block in Windows Defender settings.

I have tried to install many times and fail about 75% at Taskbar Grid 04.png and sends me to page telling me to turn off the controlled folder, which I have.  I try and continue, says unknown decompression error.

I also keep going around in circles finding the controlled folder settings since it looks like recently changed location. I finally found in the ransomware section, where I turned it off. I have tried turning off all the firewalls also and get the same failure.

I have start10 on three other systems with no issues but using Bitdefender and Malwarebytes, not sure if its a Defenders issue.

I assume not the issue, but... I don't have an email set up yet on my new laptop (have six accounts).  I bought Start10 and downloaded the install file on old laptop saved to a flash drive and am trying to install on new from a flash drive.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know.

1) Windows version of the new laptop, please use Winver.exe for full version numbers.

2) Start10 version you trying to install.

3) Information on laptop such as CPU type etc.

4) Security software installed.

Thanks

Unknown decompression error can mean corrupted download.  Might be worth downloading again to be sure.

Windows 10 Version 1903 (OS Build 18362.900)

Properties on set up file says Ver 9.5.3.0 modified 6/29/2020 12:51 AM which was probably when I downloaded it.

2020 ASUS ROG G531GT 15.6" FHD Gaming Laptop Computer, Intel Core i7-9750H, 32GB RAM, 2TB HDD+2TB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650, RGB Backlit Keyboard, Windows 10, Black, 32GB Snow Bell USB Card

No security other than Windows Defender

Thanks
