3d Modeling Software for Newbies.. Anyone know of any?

Hi, i am just starting to make wallpapers and i need a really simple and easy to use but good 3d modeling software. Could u guys please help me out? I have bryce but i cant figure out how to cut a torus in half or make curved lines for a dna helix. Please suggest some easy to use programs. Thanks!

No 3D program is easy to use and Bryce happens to be one of the most popular and less complicated program. What you need to do is visit some websites with tutorials on Bryce. You'll be surprise of how easy it gets once you read some of the instructions.

Also, why not try posting your skinning related questions in the skinning messageboard here at WC? There are threads there with info about tutorials, apps to use, etc. This messageboard is for general chat and nonsense.

Google on: POVRay

Advantages: Freeware, capable, flexible
Disadvantage: Nowhere near as slick to use as the commercial offerings, some scripting skill required to fine-tune the output.
