One way connection only

I can only connect from my work computer to my home computer using Multiplicity in both KVM and Seamless modes. I have setup Multiplicity using two computers. I have tried this with the original settings and I have changed the ports (to the 17/55 combo in the example.)

I realize that there may be firewall settings on the work computer that block connections. I have set up an allow all from the home computer's IP address on the work laptop. I have also set "always use the IP Address" checked. I also see that the the work computer is listening using Netstat.

Does anyone have an idea of a port to use or some other workaround?  I have tried any I could find on here already.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

This is where anyone should start (and with the default ports) and without a VPN connection involved if used:

I need to understand what the expectation is.

One way connection only

Are we to assume that the 'Work computer' is the Primary and the 'Home Computer' is the Secondary and that connection works.  What does not work - but you want to - is that you want to reverse the relationship - that the Home PC is the Primary and the work PC is the Secondary - is that the case?

--or no--

You want to be able to have a Secondary control a Primary regardless of what PC has either of those designations?

If its the latter, that is not possible.

If its the former - you cannot connect to the work PC Secondary from the home PC Primary:

  • Is there a VPN connection on the work PC - if so - does it allow for split-tunneling
  • Did you revert the port changes to default
  • Did you contact your IT people to see what may be an obstacle
