DS 8 doesn't read from folders. Add folder, no files appear. Add mp4 file to default folders, doesn't show up.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more.

1) Windows version. Please use Winver.exe for full version numbers.

2) More information on the issue. Added folder in local drive or network drive.

3) Any other details of issues.

Windows 10 Version 1903 (OS Build 18362.657)

Added local folders from various internal drives without luck. The folders still show up in the Add/Remove folders dialogue but do not show up in the "Folders >" drop down menu and their content is not visible.

I have no issue running Deskscape 8 on Windows 10 V1909 as seen below. Try to look at setting like "Only show screen sized or bigger wallpapers.

Thanks for the help but no luck at all unfortunately. Have uninstalled (using purge app) and reinstalled to no avail.

Wallpaper folders with pictures seem to add as normal. Just not video files (4k) - they used to a long time ago but have only recently tried to find they don't anymore.

Please try cleanboot as mentioned here : https://forums.stardock.com/485954/deskscapes-support-faq#cleanboot

Try it and report back.

MP4 files will not show in DS8 as it cannot play them.  WMV, and MPEG2 (and I think AVI files) will do.

Deskscapes 10 can play them however.

Thanks for that info - that's really disappointing as they used to play fine. They removed functionality to force an upgrade?? Bad play.

MP4 Dream files do not work with DS8 but do Now with DS10 .

No functionality has been removed.  DeskScapes 8.x has never supported MP4 files.

Support was new in version 10.
