Possible bug when using Excel 2019

I've set Group to "never automatically group" my Excel workbooks. But for some reason when I hit the "Ctrl + N"  shortcut to open a new/blank workbook, it groups them together. This does not happen when I open a new workbook from either 1) the File menu, or 2) the quick access toolbar. Nor does it happen when I open an existing workbook.

I installed Groupy in June 2019. I'm currently using Excel 2019 and this has happened for most, if not all of the time I've used Groupy.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Have you tried the application exclusion setting? Please refer screenshot below.

Try it and let us know.

Thanks

Thank you, Basj - that seemed to do the trick. (And incidentally I tested this on Word after my original post earlier today, and I had the same experience there. Perhaps it's all Office products.)

Somehow I missed that "application exclusions" button altogether. That would probably be my last resort, as in most cases I would like to at least preserve the option to group like windows together. I just would prefer not to have to be forced to ungroup them.

Am I correct in assuming that the "never automatically group" option is supposed to limit them from automatically grouping at first, but still gives me the option to do so if I choose? And that it apparently isn't working properly in this narrow instance?

Thanks for the quick responses today, everyone.
