Fences not working in Windows 10

I have been using Fences for quite some time, and recently had to upgrade to a new laptop and Windows 10 Enterprise. I downloaded the most current version (3.09) and have yet to be able to open Fences to configure them, much less get to the product registration page. I have read the other posts and have attempted to purge, reboot, reload, reboot...still unable to get FEnces to open/work. Please advise.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more information.

1) Windows 10 version, please use Winver.exe for full version numbers.

2) Your security software ie Windows defender, 360 Total security etc etc.

3) What is the error massage, pop up if any when you interact with Fences.

Thanks

Thank you for your response. Please see below for answers to your questions.

1) Windows 10 version, please use Winver.exe for full version numbers.

Version 1809 (OS Build 17763.914)

2) Your security software ie Windows defender, 360 Total security etc etc.

McAfee Endpoint, Windows Defender

3) What is the error massage, pop up if any when you interact with Fences.

No error messages or pop-ups. Nothing responds at all - no fences, no configuration window, etc. When I right-click on the desktop, then click on configure fences, nothing happens at all.

When I go to the following site https://www.stardock.com/accounts/register and enter the product key for Fences 3 that I was provided, and with the email that I used to order the product and register on the website, I do receive the following error "The serial entered is not valid."

Please try purge and reinstall again as mentioned here : https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#reinstalling

Just make sure to re-download the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purge. Re-install using the installer you just download and make sure it is install into its default directory. Reboot again after the installation. Retest it and report back.

On this one. Please use the email address used or linked to when you make the payment. i.e if you use paypal, use that email linked to that paypal account. Try again and let us know.

This did not work - same results. The program installs, but cannot interact with it - nothing happens when I click on "Configure Fences"

I am using the same email as I used for the purchase, and I have pulled the registration key from the downloaded .csv file (verifying that is matched the key sent to me by email when I requested the key). I received the same error message - "ERROR The serial entered is not valid"

Curious, after you click on "Configure Fences", do you see the Fences icon in your TaskBar?  I'm wondering if it's running but the window is displayed off screen?

In regards to registering. Don't worry about that yet (we will look into it) but when you go thru the activation process (once Fences starts working correctly) it will register itself.

Just upgraded to Windows 10 (new PC at work)  I installed Fences without problems, other than my icons are smooshed together.  (Technical term there - lol.)  Does someone know a fix for this - or I'm going to dump using Fences.  This is a mess!   Thanks.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Have you tried restarting your computer right after you finished installing?

Thanks
