"Cannot group a window that is not responding"

Starting a couple of days ago, I am unable to group any windows. I see the below error. In the case below, the browser is Brave, I can't group it with any other program.

I am on version 1.25 of Groupy. Windows. Nothing has changed on my computer re any updates/upgrades.

Any tips on how to fix this problem?

The Brave browser is basically Google Chrome at heart and Google for reasons best known to themselves decided their browser was 'special' and shouldn't play nice with everything else on your computer.

This stopped Groupy (and other applications) from working correctly with them.

We have been working on a workaround, but it seems that Google may have had a change of heart as Chrome is now allowing Groupy to work with it again, so if this is the case then I imagine the next Brave update may well also fix this.

Regardless of how Google respond in the future, we will be rolling out our workaround for Chrome's behaviour soon as part of the Groupy 1.3 update so if Brave does not get an update then this should at least allow it to group again.  It may not work as well as applications which do follow OS standards however.

Ahh... Thank you for letting me know what the problem is.

After reading your reply, I tried to group with Vivaldi and it works just fine. Vivaldi, on paper, is also Chrome. But, glad it is working.

The good news is all the Chrome derivative browsers should get the workaround once we put out an update as they are all identified the same by Groupy.

Hopefully they don't need it by the time we release it, but it is best to assume the worst.

I only use Chrome, and had this start happening on one computer yesterday, and then on this one (a second one (I have two licenses)) today.

I reinstalled groupy on the first computer, and chrome started grouping again, but not on the second computer. It still - today - will not group chrome. (Started today, and won't group)
