Groupy closes my tabs

Hi,

Been using groupy for a while and its great, aside from the fact that it frequently closes my tabs.

Example: I have a set of tabs saved into a group so I can easily open the tabs for work; they are all file explorer tabs.

I will be working or leave my desk and when the time comes for me to open a certain file, all of my tabs aside from "Downloads" and "Documents" will be closed.

Just now, I was working on a PDF file and 1 by 1, my tabs started closing, right in front of my eyes, without me touching anything. This prompted me to finally post something for some help.

I've done the purge and reinstall technique, it made the tabs last a longer time than usual yesterday, but it did not permanently fix my issue.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more.

1) Windows full version numbers. Please use winver.exe for it.

2) Groupy version.

3) Please try the cleanboot steps to see if there is conflicting application with Groupy. https://forums.stardock.com/488142/groupy-support-faq#cleanboot

Hi,

Windows Version 1903 (OS Build 18362.356)

Groupy Version 1.25

Cleanboot is not an option for me as I do not have permission to create new accounts on my work computer.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

There is no known defect, or app conflict, that would cause this.  Other than closing the apps manually, these are the only options to have Groupy perform any app closings:

After the purge, did it keep your settings that you may have changed or were those reset too?  If they are not reset, I can help you with that as having Groupy in a defaults state post install would be a valuable test.

I believe Groupy did default back to the original settings. I have not changed anything since.

 

Here are the files I have saved in a group.

As I work throughout the day, the last 3 tabs will close, only leaving the Downloads and Documents files grouped. I normally only have Google Chrome, AutoCAD, Adobe Reader, and a program for design called Woodworks up at any given time.

Again, there are no known apps or defects that are known to cause such an issue.

I would wonder, if you tested with one of the apps not included in the group, if this still happened. 

Also, are you running any batch files / powershell scripts that do multiple things from time to time?

Does your Event Viewer show any app failures that could be traced to the time this happens?

I could see as time goes on, if any of these apps cause an issue.

Not running and batch files or scripts.

I will keep an eye on any critical errors or warnings, when this happens.
