Even though it's activated Groupy stays in Trial Mode

Groupy via Object Desktop

Whatever I try, install, uninstall, reinstall, activate via Key (Object Desktop), deactivate and activate via Stardock Account, Groupy keeps saying "The trial version is limited to three tabs per group" when I try to add a fouth tab to a Group.

What can be done about that?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try the purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here : https://forums.stardock.com/488142/groupy-support-faq#reinstalling

Just make sure to re-download the latest version from your account : https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products.

Reboot after the installation. Retest and report back here.

Thanks

No version of Groupy has ever had a limit of 3 tabs per group.  The trial is exactly the same as the full version only limited to 30 days.

Are you sure you are using Stardock Groupy and you don't have some other app also installed?

Tried it, same result.

I already feared it would turn out that way, because I had previously always removed the program with Revo Uninstaller.

Also I had tried to install it from a manually downloaded v1.25 setup file as wel as through the Object Desktop Manager (as wel the regular as the Beta Version).

Since there is no problem with other programs such as WindowFX6 and ShadowFx (Fences and Start10 were already installed with seperate keys before Object Desktop was renewed)

Could it be that the file that is made available for download is actually a trial-version, or otherwise "defective"?

Kind regards

I hope the quote works as expected (the "preview" doesn't.

This is what I get when I try to add the fourth tab to a group:

Trial Limitation 3 Tabs

Thank you. But that tabs does not belong to Stardock's groupy at all

It seems you are right. When I end Groupy, the "problem" persists.

Now I'll have to look whatever app acts in a similar way as Groupy...

It was WindowTabs, an app I paid and received a key for, back in 2016, but the key did not work.

Nowadays it is apparently "open sourced" by the author who no longer supports it.

Now that it is turned of, Groupy works as expected.

Thanks to the both of you!
