Primary pops when audio is sent from secondary and then is silent

I can verify that the secondary is playing sound correctly. I've went through all of the troubleshooting steps listed in the FAQ. When audio is sent to the primary, the primary speakers make a popping sound once, but no sound is transmitted unless I unmute the sound on the secondary. If I do that, then audio plays through both speakers, which isn't what I want. Any suggestions?
