Shouldn't there be a link for news up there with all the other Message Board Sections?

Well, shouldn't there be? You would still go through the same process to post a news story (some excepted depending) and access levels. That way people who just go straight to the message board can just be one click away from new stories.

(yes I am lazy and more clicking makes me angry)

Um.....click on 'Wincustomize'....at top-left....one click does get you there...
