Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, I just setup my VM Windows10 and CursorFX run without problem there.

I am on VMware Workstation 15 Player, Windows 10 V1903 and CursorFX V2.16

Ensure that you have CursorFX installed in its default C:\ location - do not change the drive or location.
