Can't Make It Work Reliably

As a long-time user of Fences I really wanted to make Groupy work.  After several hours of frustrating attempts, I think I'm throwing in the towel unless someone can suggest something else to try.

1) Requiring Aero theme to run Groupy is a serious drawback.  I despise Aero, which does nothing for me except eat up memory.

2) Every time Groupy stops working for any reason, it will not work again unless I uninstall it, reboot my computer, and re-install.  This has happened repeatedly, and it's not a fun process.

3) Finally got it running and fairly stable when I got a Windows error message about changing display settings.  Maybe caused by running out of memory to run Aero (I have 16 GB RAM).  This locked up every open program and kicked me out of Groupy.  And of course Groupy would not work when I tried to relaunch it.  No more uninstalling and rebooting for me.

Would love to use this program if it can be made to work without requiring Aero and without requiring re-installation and reboot every time something goes wrong.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to confirm something.

1) Windows version installed.

2) Groupy version installed.

Thanks

Yes, sorry to omit info:

Win 7, 64 bit

Groupy 1.21

I'll keep an eye out for updates to try.  Just to be clear: by no means did I mean to imply that there's something wrong with the software.  There might just be some incompatibility with my system set up.

I do wish there were no requirement to use an Aero theme because I suspect that has something to do with my problems (just a hunch).

Hello,

The only thing I can think of for not using Aero type frame with Groupy on Windows 7 is by using Windowblinds skin. And set it not to use its perpixel frame. Than it will look with no glass and no shadow. Not sure if that what you want and how much that will save you on memory. And Aero still need to be on for Windowblinds skin to work.

Here a screenshot of my Simplic Classic Mono WB on Windows 7 with Groupy on and perpixel frame off.

You can get the Free Simplic Classic Mono from here -> https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/windowblinds/9077/

Thank you,
