WindowBlinds 10--------> Problems installing Misery and Uninstalling Ghost Version

I've read several places about this. Now I've never had software from Stardock let alone WindowBlinds 10 or 7x or anything else. So I just bought the very nice suite of software under Object Desktop Manager. I installed the numerous programs including what is purportedly the above noted app through the Object Desktop Manager. Seems to install. But then I can't find it anywhere and certainly not in the Stardock folder where the other apps are.

So I individually download it and I get the infamous message when trying to install that I have to uninstall the previous version 7x. Thing is I never Bloody well had, bought, installed such a program. I've looked for various solutions including the purge_wb app. Restarted the computer then tried to install WindowBlinds 10x - the latest version and again the same message I have to uninstall some previous 7x version. lol

What's going on with this miserable app? I've googled various solutions. Searched through the C drive but haven't found any extant version of this thing.

Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT RESPONSE BELOW: Tried the 'clean' and scan method below but didn't work. Scanned, stated it had cleaned up the errors. Then restarted the computer. Ran WindowBlinds 10.7.4 but same message.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. May I know what version of Windows you are trying to install the software? If it is Windows 10, which version of Windows 10. Use Winver.exe.

Thanks

Thanks for that information. Never experience or read any report with similar situation as yours. And you said you have tried the purge and reinstall steps mentioned here : https://forums.stardock.com/486023/windowblinds-support-faq#reinstalling

If yes, next :

Please try the following:

-For Win8/10 Users: Open the Start Screen, and type 'cmd'. Right-click on the search result and select 'Run as administrator' from below.

-Type: sfc /scannow

-Wait for the scan to complete (this can take several minutes)

Some help on how this looks should you need it:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929833/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system

If the SFC finds errors, but cannot fix them, please also run the following command in the same command prompt window:

dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Some help on how this looks should you need it:

https://www.windowscentral.com/how-use-dism-command-line-utility-repair-windows-10-image

The above command should assist with replacing any damaged or problematic system files. Please note, however, since it may require restoring certain files, this process can take some time and you will need to be patient until it has completed.

Please let me know whether this resolves your problem or if you have any additional questions.

Thank you,

Basj

Ok I'll give this a go.

EDIT: Scanned. Cleaned. Restart. Ran WindowBlinds, same message.

EDIT: Scanned and ran it again. Stated, "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations." Restarted, Ran WB - same message.
