Need help w/Capsula 2nd Ed. by Treetog

I have been experiencing problems w/my absolutely favorite skin, & want to use it, but it gets in the way of a couple of programs i.e. the Toolbar in PowerDeskPro 5, and Norton Personal Firewall are the main examples.

Can't find a section that includes skin authors on Wincustomize, so I will post here in hopes of getting help.

Thanks in advance,

can you be a bit more specific about what you mean by 'gets in the way'?

which OS, which WB version, when did these problems start happening (did you install any new software/hardware, etc).

Thanks.

I''m using WB4 & WinXP. The prob w/PowerDesk''s Toolbar manifests by not reacting to screen repainting when I open the toolbar which gets docked to the top of the screen & re-orients things down to fit between Toolbar & XP''s Start bar. This comes up incosistently, so I wind up having to move my personally placed app icons when the toolbar screen repainting doesn''t properly occur.

With Norton Personal Firewall, I seem to intermittenly ''lose'' the Alert Tracker which lets you know that someone who is trying to hack into your system. When I change the skin to something else, it seems to re-appear. BTW, do you know how to contact the author Treetog, who updated Alan Bond''s original Capsula skin?

I appreciate all help,

Oldwolf

hmm have you tried excluding those applications from being skinned?

I'll give it a shot & let you know how it goes. BTW, where can I find the documentation relating to customizing the different specific skinning exclusions for the apps, rather than excluding all features for an app?

TIA,

I have no idea, sorry. You could just poke around in wbconfig and display>appearance>advanced...all those little nooks and crannies.

You can also apply any specific skin to any specific program. Which means that if those programs work better with another skin, you can apply those to them.

I have tried using different exclusion tactics but the only one that worked was total exclusion for a problem app.(like photoshop and cool edit pro)

Thanks to all for your input.

I tried all diff. permutations to no avail.

However, when I change WB skins, the Alert Tracker does seem to 'automagically' show up. This is odd, because the N. Pers. Firewall is set to start w/windows; but when I turned on my machine this evening after returning home, it was missing, & NPF didn't even load. I changed to another skin & shazam, it showed up.

Seems that Paxx's #6 idea is best to try now, to assing a good skin to the app in question.

Thanks again,

To All kind enough to help:

After seeming endless experimenting I hit on the answer. It was a conflict w/one of the apps I had loading at startup. I excluded it from my startup list and all is well.

The strange thing is that it didn't always behave like that.
