And that's what happens when you have unelected officials with nothing better to do than pass more and more laws.

This, IMO, is one of the biggest drawbacks of the EU.

It seems they need to appear to be doing something to justify their huge salaries.  Whether it be right or wrong, it shows they're doing something.  It is so typical of politicians and bureaucrats, doing eff all 99% of the time, then needlessly complicating things with hashed out new laws we've lived quite well without before.

For mine, unelected officials should NOT have the power to create new laws, just administer those already in place.
