My monitor for my desktop went out. It may just be the power cord for the monitor, or the monitor, either way I don't have the money to fix it.
I recommend the BenQ brand: https://www.benq.com/en-us/index.html
, they are superb!
The monitor cord is the same cord that is used to power the computer. At least mine are for HP. I just bought an HP LE 2202x brand new off of craig's list for $25 to use as a second monitor. You said you don't have enough money to fix it , what's your budget?
You know you want a 32:9 since SCO now supports the resolution!!In all honesty, I love my 21:9 29" ultra wide. The 34" ultra wide is a bit too big for me (I use one at work.)
Right now I have -50$. My power cord does not look like a regular cord. It looks more like a laptop cord.
That's like my LG 27" monitor's power cable... a regular plug to the supply, a power adapter to reduce current, then a small single pin plug going into the monitor. Before I got it I'd only ever seen monitors with a regular power cable the same as those going to the PC itself.
Thing is, see if you have a spare adapter with the same power ratings and same size pin. Perhaps you could try it to see if it is in fact the cord at fault. I have a spare for my monitor now. I often keep power adapters from old/dead hardware, but I found my spare monitor cable at a weekend market for 2 bucks. Though it was originally for a Toshiba appliance it does the job.
