shell32.DLL error message

Whenever I try to change/apply windowblinds I get the following error message: An exception occurred while trying to run "shell32.dll, Control_RunDLL " C:\Windows\System32\desk.cpl",Display"
The colors will change, but the style remains the classic Windows instead of the XP style, if that makes any sense.

Yesterday it worked fine and today this! (I'm using XP home version.)

Any clues what this means and/or how to fix it?

There are two things we can try.

Open the "Display Properties". Select the "Appearance" tab. In "Windows and buttons" select "Windows Classic style". Do that step even if it looks it is already in classic style. Press "OK". Reboot and try again.

If this does not work then:

Open the "Display Properties". Select the "Appearance" tab. In "Windows and buttons" select "Windows Classic style". Do that step even if it looks it is already in classic style. Press "OK". Uninstall WindowBlinds. To uninstall use the same program as you have used to install WindowBlinds (either StardockCentral or Component Manager). You may have addional tabs in your Display Properties dialog and if so then after you have booted reinstall your graphics drivers and reboot again. After you have booted reinstall WindowBlinds.

The order of the steps described is very important.

If both these methods do not work then e-mail me at [email protected].
